From
the heart of a serious human tragedy we are currently
experiencing, we are voicing this plea because it is the
responsibility of each one of us to protect man's rights
and honor.
Who
are we?
We are the comrades and friends of the Engineer
Ramzi Ayrani who was either kidnapped or arrested in
the heart of Beirut (crowded Hamra street) on Wednesday
May 8, 2002 at 4:30 PM. We regret to inform you that
Ramzi Ayrany's body was discovered in the trunk of his
car on May 20, 2002. Our martyr Ramzi Ayrani is a Lebanese
citizen, a family man with 2 children and an employee
in his thirties leading a normal life. We could not
trace any disorders in his general behavior except a
strong belief in democracy and freedom, which he advocated
through his responsibilities within the Lebanese Forces
students groups. We are entrusting you with the case
of the Engineer Ramzi Ayrani since you are the defenders
of democracy and freedom, urging you to resort to every
possible mean at hand to reveal the fate of the Engineer
Ramzi Ayrani and secure his safe return to his home
and family.
Ayrani's
wife reveled that "for the past month, three men
have been asking about him on the weekend, when we would
be out." She added that they had managed to identify
the individuals through the license plate numbers of
their car, but "we don't know any of them."
Nevertheless, she lodged an official complaint with
Beirut's public prosecutor's office, requesting that
her husband's disappearance be investigated.
We
asked The Lebanese government about Ayrani's case, they
replied: " WE DIDN'T DO IT ", as if the government's
responsibility is to decline and not protect it's people.
We,
the Lebanese Forces, hold the Lebanese authorities fully
responsible for Ayrani's assassination. With all who
believe in democracy, freedom and Human dignity we will
keep struggling to ensure that the killers will be brought
to justice.
Disappearance
LF's Ramzi Ayrani Disappears Mysteriously in Beirut
A
senior activist of the Lebanese Forces has vanished
in mysterious conditions in Beirut and Prosecutor-General
Adnan Addoum asserted that missing engineer Ramzi Ayrani
is not held by any Lebanese security department. Ramzi's
disappearance was reported to the authorities by his
wife Jocelyne Khoury Akl, who demanded an extensive
investigation to determine whether he was abducted .
"If so, his kidnappers must be apprehended and
brought to justice, whoever they are," Mrs. Ayrani
said.
"My
husband was walking from his office in Hamra to the
Phoenicia Hotel to take my sister home on Wednesday,
when he went missing near the Trad Hospital, with his
mobile telephone shut off," Mrs. Ayrani said in
her report.
Addoum
told reporters he conducted a inquiry with various security
branches of the Lebanese state, including the army's
intelligence branch, to determine whether any of them
was holding Ayrani.
"When
all departments asserted that the missing engineer was
not detained, I instructed the detective department
to take up the case," Addoum said.
Ayrani
heads the Lebanese University branch of the LF Students
Department, which issued a statement that held the Lebanese
state responsible for his assasination.
