About the LF at AUB
AUB, American University of Beirut is situated in the middle of Hamra, the middle of the so-called "Gharbiyyeh" where the most influential leftist pro-Arab, Islamic, Nasserite, pro-Syrian, pro-Palestinian parties are present.

It all started back in the year 2000, when a few LF students decided to create a cell and participate in the political work in the university. After all Sheikh Bashir Gemayel, founder of the Lebanese Forces, after being denied entrance to the AUB (after being fought by Alfred Madi), established the biggest Rightist movement and for the first time made the Rightist win the elections at AUB in the early 70s. Dr.Samir Geagea, leader of the outlawed Lebanese Forces was himself a student of Medicine at AUB too and was politically very active in the late 70s.

This background gave the students an extra boost of confidence. They united the efforts, recruited pro-LF and other pro-Christian students and participated in the 2000 elections under the Lebanese Forces name for the first time in the University's history.

The results of this first participation were very encouraging and work was intensified after elections, the cell constituted at the end of the 2001-year around 40 people. Work was more organized. The LF AUB then formed with a group of patriotic pro-LF individuals the Student League, meant to regroup all Right parties and attract a greater number of people to it. in order to promote its ideas. A club was later created under the name of "Back To Roots" club. Lectures, conferences, publications, exhibition and campaigns were launched.

In the 2002 elections, the LF AUB through the Student league accomplished a great achievement by winning 3 places in the AUB elections (without any alliance). Its popularity since then has grown larger and larger. Its sudden rise between all the Leftists, Islamic, pro-Syrian and pro-Palestinian parties present at the University for years was a major victory for our struggle, our Cause and a shock to all pro-Syrians, Palestinians and traitors present at AUB.
LF AUB mission statement:
LF AUB's mission is to promote the nationalist rightist thoughts expressed by the Ideology of the Lebanese Forces. The LF AUB’s mission is to also create more awareness of the Lebanese Cause among the students. As Sheikh Bashir quoted, the Lebanese Cause comes first and that no other causes, mainly the Palestinian one, should prevail before liberating our country from the Syrians and establishing a sovereign and independent Lebanon.
