About the LF at LAU
The end of the war in Lebanon was a major transformation for the LF. Back then the “Lebanese Forces” had accepted the taef agreement, but our leader “Dr. Samir Geagea” refused to go into a government under Syrian control. For many years, “Hakim” wanted the LF to become a political party in peace as it were in war, and the key to a strong political party was to start working with students in high schools and universities.

That’s how LF LAU started. The aim of the LF at the Lebanese American University is not only political but also social. We do not protect the rights of LF students but all the students at LAU. Many of the enhancements that were brought to LAU students were made by the LF LAU party.

LF LAU are working on many levels. Our main goal for the year 2004 is to win the election at the Byblos campus. Our second goal is winning the elections at the Beirut campus where we could actually make it if big political figures had not interfered and other parties did not use force and power over us. Moreover, we are currently working on something we consider very important which is convincing people that the LF are not a party for Christians only but they are a party for the whole Lebanese and our aim is not a Christian Lebanon but a free Lebanon.
