General Aoun: A Big Lie and Illusion
Throughout Lebanon's history no man was able to cause as much harm and suffering to the Christian community as Michel Aoun did.

He began as a simple army officer, then prostituted himself to his superiors or LF leaders to gain positions and when he did, he would turn on his allies and attack them everyway he could. Aoun managed to do in one year what the Syrians and the Palestinians failed to do in 20 years time. Aoun managed to destroy our community like no one did, to divide our people, weaken our political stance, cause the death of hundreds even thousands of people, damaged our free Christian regions heavily and all that for a stupid chair.

This is a chronology of Aoun’s relations with the LF through his drive to presidency, showing how this man climbed positions through lies, deceit and how he divided the Christians and led them to a deadly war that we are still paying its price till now; while his majesty is in France making his blind followers think he is still the savior that our nation has been waiting for.

Aoun (1980): The first fight with the LF headed by Sheikh Bashir at the time.

In the late 1980s, General Aoun was still an officer in the army who fought fiercely the Palestinians in the Tal El Za3tar. He requested from Sheikh Bashir that he pressures President Sarkis to appoint him as head of the army section in Mount Lebanon to handle the Palestinian attacks along with the LF and so join the efforts.

Few days after Aoun was assigned to this post, he started harassing the LF units present in Mount Lebanon and refused to answer Sheikh Bashir’s calls for an explanation of these aggressions against the LF. Things got worse when Aoun invaded the Badaro central, which was an essential location for monitoring for the LF.

Two days later, Aoun finally showed up and contact was made with him and this was part of the dialogue that occurred between him and an LF high responsible:
LF responsible: "shou 2ostak ma3 Bashir?"
Aoun: "La chay2 , 2amma el jaysh 3ala 2ared 2amma Antom."

This was back in 1980 and Aoun had already started showing his hatred towards the LF at a time our country was still heavily threatened by the Palestinians and the Syrians.

Aoun (June 1984):
After Sheikh Amine Gemayel was elected for president, he decided to change the head of the army and Aoun was among the favorites. Aoun met with the LF to get their support and quoted when asked if he had any plans on attacking the LF after being appointed:
"Bikoun chi? ana minkoum wou feekoun, Ana 2odroub el Kouwat el Lebnaniyye? Ana 2ouwajjih Baroudi 2ila seder masi7e?"

And in another meeting he assured "2inna darba el Kouwat 3ala yadi lan ya7ssol wou 2annahou damana lil Kouwat”.

On the 23rd of June 1984, news that Aoun was going to surprise the LF by a sudden attack to take over the military council (Majliss el 7arbi) and the "7awoud el khamiss" and the roads leading to it were heard. Fadi Frem quickly asked for clarifications from Aoun, but Aoun who apparently lost the surprise factor denied any attack was planned.

Aoun (15 January 1986):
After Dr. Geagea assumed the leadership of the LF by putting out HK (who was kept alive by orders from Michel el Murr, Michel Aoun and the Syrians), Hk and his followers were driven out at that time in four armored vehicles property of the LF, and Aoun was supposed to give them back. When a few days later, cars were still not returned, Pakradoni vice president of Hakim called Aoun and this was what came in the dialogue:

Note: Aoun's sentences are not available but you can conclude them from Pakradoni's responses what he said.

Pakradoni: "Bonsoir General. ma3ak karim Pakradoni 3ala el khatt. keef el 2a7wel General.Inchallah Mirte7."
Aoun:
Pakradoni: " Eh General . Bass hawoudi la 2ilna. "
Aoun: ...
Pakradoni: "La ma fi yiddi3e 2annaha Melek khass, keef melek khass. chou houwwe chere hal siyyarat min bet bayyo? "
Aoun: ...
Pakradoni: "Hayda mich manti2. Ma bimsa7lak t2elle hek. Inta 3miltilna 2al wataniyye wel 2amene"

Here Pakradoni hung up the phone and the cars were never given back by Aoun.

Later that year, the LF needed army officers to train LF soldiers to restructure the whole LF. Aoun did not respond arguing that " la2anno 3ala el ketef 7immel" or "la2anno Amine natirni 3ala da2ra baddo yichilne". Later on Simon Kassis head of the army intelligence assigned several officers to help the LF but they never came and when Aoun was asked about that his answer was "ma 7ada 2alle chi. ma 7ada 2a3tene chi".

This is how Aoun dealt with the LF from Bashir to Samir, every time he wanted a higher post, he would "prostitute" himself in front of other parties mainly the LF and when he got the post, he would attack them on any occasion.

Aoun (September 1986): Al katee3a
After HK tried to attack Hakim back to regain his post, the LF stood up to him and Aoun helped hoping to get 2 birds with one stone. The LF then asked permission to put check points in Monteverde to capture the rest of the HK followers 20 meters away from the army check point, and Aoun's answer was "OK".

After the LF set up the checkpoint, an hour later an army officer approached it and threatened saying that they had 30 minutes to dismantle the check point or they would be forced to attack them. While contacts were being made with Aoun, the checkpoint was removed by force and the result was 2 kills and several wounded.

The tension ascended between the LF and the army and Hakim tried in that critical time to meet up with Aoun to settle things once and for all through some mediators. George Saade tried to fix a meeting but Aoun excused himself claiming to be busy. The next 3 attempts were made by George Gabr, first time Aoun did not attend claiming Amin was aware of it, second time he was apparently busy with a meeting with a UN commissioner and third time he did not show up to.

The last attempt was made by Chaker Abou Sleiman head of the Maronite league at the time but he failed too and the tension was still rising.

Aoun (1988):
In 1988 after Aoun had led a large harassment campaign against the LF, he asked Hakim to assist him in boycotting the presidential elections in 1988. The LF asked to setup checkpoints at Mat7af region to stop them and General's answered saying that he could put up checkpoints wherever he wanted. The elections were successfully boycotted.

A few days later, Jezzine MP Farid Ser7al was kidnapped; the LF answered back and captured Adel Osseiran, minister of defense at the time. Aoun called Hakim and told him he cannot but answer to the kidnapping of Osseiran since he is in the government but assured him they will fake patrols.

Later that night the army created fights on some LF checkpoint which resulted in attacks on all other LF checkpoints which were mainly in Achrafiyeh and the Mat7af where Aoun himself had allowed the LF to put check points in order to stop the elections.

Aoun (1988): The formation of the temporary military government

The formation of a new government was necessary since Amin Gemayel's presidential mandate ended. All christian parties met and when Aoun asked Hakim about what he'll do if he (Aoun) was not included in the new government, Hakim answered:

Khallas khallas. 2ittafa2na 2ittafa2na.

When Hakim asked him of his position if he (Hakim) was not included in the new government, he replied: " Ana 2arfod zalika. Wa haza min beb to7sseel el 7assil".

Later at night in the meeting, right before Amin declared his decision, Hakim asked Aoun if he accepts to be in a civil government, Aoun answered: No. Then he continued asking him if he accepts to be in a military government, Aoun replied "Iza badkoun".

Here Hakim felt that some hidden agenda was about to show so he took Aoun aside and told him: "Ya general 2innahoum ya3maloun kil hal chi likay nakhtalif ana wa inta ma3 ba3dina", so he answered: "abadan. Bi charafe el 3askare sa2a3oud wa 2ouwassi3ouha fima ba3ed 7atta tosbi7 siyyasiyya".

And so after promising Hakim yet again and gave his word (his word as general of the army) that he will not enter a new government without Hakim in it he showed how low and untruthful and filthy he could be when he accepted to head the new temporary military government that Amin declared later. Notice here that the three muslims that were included in the new government retreated from it just after it was declared.
