The
judicial interrogation of 9 supporters of Gen. Michel
Aoun and four activists of Samir Geagea's Lebanese Forces
has been postponed until Jan. 22.
Examining magistrate Joseph Kazzi ordered the postponement
at the request of defense attorneys, who had asked for
extra time to study the case.
The
attorneys said most of the 13 defendants cannot legally
be prosecuted without the permission of the bar association.
Most
prominent among the defendants is Brig. Gen. Nadim
Lteif, top coordinator of Gen. Aoun's Free Patriotic
Movement (FPM).
Among
FPM defendants are Hikmat Deeb, lawyers Fadi Barakat,
Antoine Nasrallah, Walid Dagher and Elie Bitar.
Other
FPM activists involved were engineer Selim Aoun, dentist
Fouad Farhat and Patrick Misthi.
Defendants
of Geagea's LF are Nader Nader, Sharbel Abi Akl, Simon
Mosallam and Tony Yazbek.
All
have been charged with inciting anti-government disorders
early in August.
