Todays
mass was a superb event and maybe one of the most
critical since our leader Dr. Samir Geagea was wrongfully
imprisoned 9 years ago. The atmosphere surrounding
the affair was so incredible and vital that it was
even attended and celebrated for the first time
by the Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir who gave an admirable
speech about our leader during the ceremony. Sethrida
Geagea, Samir Geagea's mum, his sister and many
distinguished politicians attended the mass including
all the Qornet Shehwan Gathering members but not
the ex-president Amin Gemayel. Also attending the
mass were all of the previous Lebanese Forces commanders
and all the influential Lebanese Forces leaders
of today.
During the mass the Patriarch gave an exemplary
speech saying that "Samir Geagea chose to lose
freedom and stay in Lebanon while he could have
gained freedom by leaving his country". He
also stated that "Hakim always dreamed about
a better Lebanon and that he had always and still
is sacrificing for it". He said that "Lebanon
will never be wealthy without freedom, without telling
the truth, without fairness and without love".
The Patriarch closed his speech by saying that the
way Lebanon is now, is not the right way, especially
since Samir Geagea and many others who are in prison
could have been in power now if they had sold their
causes.
Sethrida Geagea also gave a speech starting off
by saying that the Hakim is sending a "salut"
from his jail cell to the Patriarch who is holding
all the problems of the country now and to all the
Lebanese Forces members who are always ready to
sacrifice for their country to "revive the
torch". Sethrida said that "It's easy
to numerate the nine years which the Hakim has spent
in jail, but it is distressing when we know how
much the sacrifices are big for Hakim, and also
for his family and the Lebanese Forces members".
She ended her speech by asking in the name of Samir
Geagea, all the Lebanese Forces members and from
Bkerki "The greatest Lebanese house of all
the Lebanese people", she asked one more time
to have a real "mousalaha" and a real
"wifak" so that our leader will be free.
Today was a great day, and hopefully will lead to
the freedom of our leader, Dr. Samir Geagea.
